Sam is the Security Manager – Australasia for International SOS and Control Risks, overseeing the delivery of all travel advisory and security services for clients across the Australasia region. He and the Asia Pacific team operate closely with the International SOS and Control Risks offices globally to provide a unified solution for security assistance needs. Most recently, Sam was a Coordinating Security Specialist in the Dubai Regional Security Centre providing analytical and operational support to clients in high and extreme risk locations. Previously, Sam worked for Save the Children’s Middle East regional office in Jordan and was deployed to northern Iraq shortly after IS expanded there in 2014. He has conducted research for Charles Sturt University’s Graduate School of Policing and Security, Migration Council Australia and for the Australian Shadow Minister for Finance, Dr Jim Chalmers MP. Sam also designed and delivered terrorism crisis simulations as the co-director of Washington D.C.-based not-for-profit firm Stratcon. Sam holds a Bachelor of International Relations with a specialisation in International Security from the Australian National University. He has also studied at the George Washington University in Washington D.C. and the University of Jordan in Amman.
